How the SME IPO Minimum Investment Calculator works
SEBI raised the minimum application size for SME IPOs from ₹1,00,000 to ₹2,00,000through its September 2024 consultation, finalised in amendments effective 2025 — aimed at filtering speculative retail applications for a smaller, more informed investor base. In practice, SME issuers now set the lot size itself so that one lot already meets or exceeds this ₹2,00,000 floor; this calculator flags the rare case where a lot's value falls short and shows how many lots you'd need.
Employee-reservation and shareholder/policyholder categories can have their own minimum application rules (e.g. employee category is capped at ₹5,00,000) — always check the specific SME IPO's RHP for category-wise figures rather than relying on a general rule.
