How the Should I Apply? IPO Score Tool works

The score blends up to five signals, weighted by how predictive they've historically been: QIB subscription (30%), Grey Market Premium (20%), fresh issue share of the total offer (20%), OFS (Offer for Sale) share (15%), and retail subscription (15%). Before the subscription window opens, or if subscription data isn't available yet, a reduced set (GMP, issue structure, issue size) is used instead — the tool tells you which mode produced the score you're seeing.

A higher fresh-issue share scores better than a heavy OFS, since fresh issue proceeds go to the company for growth while OFS proceeds go to existing sellers — though a 100% OFS issue isn't automatically treated as a red flag, since that can simply be a liquidity event for a fundamentally sound, already-profitable company. Strong subscription and a healthy positive GMP both push the score up; the score is suppressed entirely (shown as unavailable) when there isn't enough real signal on file to say anything meaningful.

This score reflects market sentiment and issue structure, not a fundamental valuation judgment — pair it with the P/E Ratio and Fair Value Estimator calculators for that separately, and never treat any single number here as a buy/apply recommendation.
