How the STT, Brokerage & DP Charges Calculator works

Net proceeds = sale value − STT − brokerage − DP charges. Securities Transaction Tax (STT) on equity delivery is a statutory 0.1% of the sale value on the sell side — unchanged as of Union Budget 2026. Brokerage and DP charges are notgovernment rates — they're set by your broker and depository (CDSL/NSDL). DP charges are typically ₹13–20 including GST, levied once per scrip per day you sell, regardless of how many shares are in that sale.

This calculator handles a single sell transaction. For the IPO listing-day version of this (issue price vs. listing price, with the gain/loss shown alongside the charges), use the listing day profit/loss calculator instead.

Disclaimer: This calculator is for educational purposes only and does not constitute investment advice. Always read the Red Herring Prospectus and verify current rates before applying for any IPO.
